Let’s Get This Life Detox Going!

1. Clear Off All Surfaces

Alright, this is the big overall sweep that has to happen first. Go around your entire house and clear off your surfaces. Eliminate clutter, get rid of the dust collecting chachkies (trinkets, place holders, silly little decor you got at the dollar section of Target that you never appreciate), put things where they actually belong, etc.

We want to make sure we are bringing in that minimalistic mentality because honestly, less is more. If it’s not bringing you joy… yeah, yeah, you know the rest.

Just start to allow air to flow easier through your home. Create more space!

2. Time to Purge

Alright, it’s time to just rid yourself of everything that no longer is necessary like that expired can of soup in the pantry…

  1. Go through your pantry, fridge and freezer, and throw away any expired food. While you’re act it, do a nice deep clean of those areas as well. Make it organized!

  2. Throw away expired medications or products in your medicine cabinet, drawer or wherever you keep them.

  3. Get rid of any expired beauty and hair products. If your makeup is liquid and more than a year old, it’s expired FYI.

  4. Go through your closet and donate any clothes you don’t enjoy, don’t wear, or will not be wearing in the future. Same goes for your shoes, handbags, accessories, etc. Just please make sure to donate preferably to a place that doesn’t resell.

  5. Go through drawers and “catch-all” areas and declutter as well.

  6. Don’t forget to clean out your car and purse as well!

3. Deep Clean!

Now we gotta deep clean and purify! Be sure to dust those windowsills, clean under your bed, furniture, and other hard to reach areas. Any place that can collect dust, clean it real good!

4. Digital Detox

Now that you an have amazing clean and open space to relax in, it’s time to get to the digital aspect of your life which if you’re like me, is 80% of your life.

  1. Unsubscribe from those emails you never read

  2. Clean out your inboxes

  3. Delete old files you no longer need or use

  4. Delete apps you never use or create bad habits

  5. Get rid of music you never listen to and always skip

  6. Turn notifications off on social media apps for a week

  7. Utilize “Do Not Disturb” mode at night

  8. Eliminate your phone and computer use by an hour each if possible, daily

It’ll be hard, but worth it.

5. Cut Off the Toxic Relationships

This one is hard but the toxic cycles have to stop at some point. If there are relationships in your life that bring you anxiety, low confidence, pain, headaches, are just annoying, etc, let them go!

There is no need to drag out negative connections because for some wounded reason you can’t seem to understand that you deserve better. Cut the cycles and see how your life immediately changes and becomes lighter.

Not sure if you’re in a toxic relationship? Don’t worry, I got you covered. Click here: Are You in a Manipulative Relationship?

6. End the Bad Habits + Negative Thinking Patterns

Make a list of all the bad habits you witness yourself partaking in every day and make a goal to cut one out a week. Even if it takes 12 months, stick to it.

When it comes to negative thinking patterns you literally have the power to change the way your brain operates. It’s hard as fuck but you can do it. Anyone can.

Try to incorporate more positive thinking and perception shifts within your life and cut any negative thinking in the bud right when you notice it.

For every one negative thought, it takes three positive thoughts to eliminate it. Dedicate your life to thinking positive thoughts and being gracious for the small things.

8. Try Non-Toxic Products *optional but recommended*

If you can, try to go non-toxic in any and every aspect of your life. Especially cleaning products!
